How to get the best out of your face mask

For face mask actives to enter skin without hindrance, your skin needs to be squeaky clean before you apply it. We recommend that you wash your face with warm water and a gentle, sulphate-free face wash or face cleanser. Warm water opens the pores for easier seeping through of actives. Here are the key steps to using a face mask:

• Cleanse your face thoroughly with a gentle, no-rinse cleanser like Micellar Water to open pores and remove dirt, oil and traces of make-up. 
• Pat dry the skin. Apply a generous, even layer of the mask using a clean face mask brush – make sure to avoid the eyebrow, hairline and eye area. 
• Let dry for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water to close pores and pat dry with a towel. 
• Follow up with a toner, and then a moisturizer/ day cream/night cream; as required.
